For people who are interested in both psychology and education
and have a strong desire to work with children, school psychology
is a hot career. School psychologists usually work inside
schools, though they may also work in clinical settings.
For a school psychologist, a normal day would consist of
providing counseling services, evaluating students for learning
disabilities and mental health problems, and working with
teachers and parents to develop appropriate educational and
emotional goals for individuals.
While requirements are different in every state, school psychologists
generally need at least a masters degree to practice. In addition,
some states require a PhD and national certification.
